7-Up Soda Contest Offers Trip to Space
No purchase necessary
by Carol Pinchefsky
7-Up Soda, along with the Ansari X-Prize Foundation, is offering U.S. contestants a chance to win a trip to space in a suborbital vehicle. There is currently no information on which vehicle is partnered with 7-Up.

Imbibers of specially marked Diet 7-Up, Cherry 7-Up, Sunkist Orange Soda, A&W Root Beer, and Canada Dry Ginger Ale sodas receive a code that can be checked at www.7up.com (select "FREE ticket to space" button).

Fortunately, the competition is not limited to drinkers of sugared, carbonated beverages.

According to the rules of the competition: "To obtain a free Code by mail (while supplies last), hand-print your name and complete mailing address (no P.O. Boxes), phone number (including area code) and date of birth (mm/dd/yyyy) on a 3" x 5" card and mail it to: DIET 7 UP® "FREE Ticket to Space" Code Request, P.O. Box 6200, Dept. V, Clear Lake, MN 55319.

"Requests must be postmarked by August 31, 2005 and received by September 6, 2005. Limit one (1) Code request per envelope per day. Mechanical reproductions will not be accepted."

For more information on the contest, see the contest FAQ.
