150,000 might cram Mojave

MOJAVE - Next week's launch of the world's first privately developed rocket
plane could ignite a new frontier in space for ordinary citizens.
But space buffs and other ordinary folk who didn't reserve a motel in this
out-of-the-way desert town two weeks ago are out of luck.
"Every motel room here has been booked for two weeks,' said Roger Momi,
desk clerk at the 35-unit Econo Lodge. "It's a big event, and we're getting
hundreds of calls for a place to stay from as far as Australia, Germany,
England and Singapore.'...
