I've just set up a website that's a little bit different, and I'm very interested in getting some feedback and suggestions about it. It's a directory of websites -- essentially an online list of bookmarks, but with about a sentence of description for each -- related to space and astronomy. This includes listings of blogs as well as traditional news outlets, agencies and company sites. I've tried to strike a balance between having a thorough enough listing so that even people who follow these fields might discover a few new sites, while not being so comprehensive that it's overwhelming or contains a lot of seldom-updated material. I haven't come across anything quite like this. There are exhaustive lists without descriptions, and much narrower selective lists, but I'm trying to make this something that people could go to as a way of checking out a lot of links quickly, such as scanning a series of blogs. Does it seem like a useful idea at all? Are there ways it could be set up to make it more so? Are there important or useful sites, or even whole categories, that I should add?
The site is Space Places, at www.spaceplaces.net
Please let me know what you think, preferably by using the email link on the page. David Chandler
