Space Future has been on something of a hiatus of late. With the concept of Space Tourism steadily increasing in acceptance, and the advances of commercial space, much of our purpose could be said to be achieved. But this industry is still nascent, and there's much to do. So...watch this space.

Is the first female tourist far behind?
According to the below press release, a Japanese entrepreneur will be heading toward the International Space Station some time in September; no word on the exact date. A woman, Anousheh Ansari, has joined the backup crew. There is also no news on if she will be traveling in her own right at a later time.

...for the European Space Agency
Space Adventures, Ltd., the world's leading space experiences company, announced a science agreement with the European Space Agency (ESA), for a research program to be performed with Greg Olsen, Ph.D. who will visit the International Space Station ( ISS) next month. Under the agreement, Dr. Olsen will act as a test subject for three experiments of ESA's onboard research program.

Launch planned 1 October 2005
Space Adventures, Ltd., the world's leading space experiences company, announced today that American technology entrepreneur Gregory Olsen, Ph.D. has been confirmed to the Soyuz TMA-7 crew which is currently planned for launch to the International Space Station ( ISS) on October 1 from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan. Dr. Olsen will be joining the 12th Expedition Crew which will also include NASA astronaut William McArthur and cosmonaut Valery Tokarev.
