Space Adventures has announced that negotiations are underway with customers for the first private human flight to the Moon.

According to the space.com article, Space Adventures president and CEO Eric Anderson said, "I hope to have those contracts signed by the end of the year."

Two space tourists, each paying approximately US$100 Million, would ride with a Russian cosmonaut aboard a modified Soyuz spacecraft. The Soyuz would get a boost from a docked Russian upper-stage rocket and fly a "boomerang" trajectory around the Moon.

Space Adventures, which has already orbited five private space travellers to the International Space Station, has sold almost US$200 Million worth of personal spaceflights.

Information on the proposed lunar voyage can be found online at Space Adventures .
